SyncUp

Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you use SyncUp, we collect the following information:

  • Your name and email address (via Google Sign-In)
  • Calendar availability data (to find meeting times)
  • SyncUp titles and participant email addresses you provide

How we use it

Your data is used solely to provide the SyncUp scheduling service:

  • Finding overlapping availability between participants
  • Creating calendar events for matched meetings
  • Sending email notifications about your SyncUps

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising purposes.

Third-party services

SyncUp integrates with the following services to function:

  • Google Calendar API — to read your availability and create meeting events
  • Google Sign-In — for authentication
  • Resend — for sending transactional emails
  • Zoom — if you connect your Zoom account, to create and manage meetings on your behalf

Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

Calendar data

With your permission, SyncUp accesses your Google Calendar to (1) read your existing events so it can avoid scheduling conflicts, and (2) create the confirmed meeting event once a time is agreed. When a proposed slot overlaps an existing event, we show you that event's title on your own screen so you can decide whether to meet anyway. We use this data only to compute availability and create the meetings you initiate — we do not store your broader calendar contents, and we never sell or share calendar data. Calendar access can be revoked at any time through your Google account settings.

Zoom data

If you connect a Zoom account (an optional Pro feature), SyncUp stores the access and refresh tokens needed to create and cancel meetings on your behalf, and reads your Zoom profile name and email so we can show which account is linked. We create a Zoom meeting only when one of your SyncUps is scheduled, and cancel it if that SyncUp is rescheduled. We do not access your Zoom recordings, chat, contacts, or any other Zoom data. You can disconnect Zoom at any time in Settings, or remove the app from the Zoom App Marketplace — either action deletes the stored Zoom tokens.

Google API Limited Use

SyncUp's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data retention

Your account data is retained as long as you have an active SyncUp account. SyncUp scheduling data (availability, matched times) is retained for the duration of each SyncUp and may be deleted after completion. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS) for all data in transit. Authentication is handled through Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol. We do not store passwords.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, and delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights:

  • Access & correction — most of your data (profile, availability, and SyncUps) is visible and editable directly in the app.
  • Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings, or by emailing us.
  • Disconnect integrations — you can revoke Google Calendar or Zoom access from Settings (or from your Google/Zoom account) without deleting your SyncUp account.
  • Portability — email us to request a copy of your data.

To make any of these requests, contact us at hello@thekittisisters.com. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
